I hadn't focused on these before and didn't realize how Standing Ovation didn't reach STWOM and little more than her Christmas album or now Hope. Some folks are really missing a treat in all of these.

They come, they come, to build a wall between us...we know they won't win." Don't dream it's over.

I'm surprised that some feel Hope was not well received. Compared to the last three, it seems like they are in a similar range of the top 20. The first three were wild hits and I well remember posts saying that would not be able to continue in this music atmosphere.

But what I want is to see the total sales of each of these "old" albums in another 5 years because it seems people are still buying them, at least from the fact that new reviews keep showing up on Amazon and I trust cash keeps showing up in Susan's bank accounts.

Bumping hopefully for some education for myself.

On Bill's poster I see, in their respective years, Standing Ovation was #12 of the top 20 while HOPE was #16. (And Home For Christmas #14) With most artists selling less each year now, is #16 this year so much lower than #12 two years ago? I really don't know, but still lean toward there 'taint no judging until a lot further along.

CB, thanks for a great poster/reminder of Susan's amazing accomplishments, 6 Top 20 USA albums in 5 years, and these are from the recorded and reported sales numbers, I always wonder what they would have been had the "not" reported numbers been included, keeping in mind always that Susan and her label know, and, of course No. 1 is as high as you can go. Irregardless of any critic, this is something Susan and her label must be proud of. IMO

There are more to come, what I'm looking at is how many charts Susan has consecutively made the Top 40 on for six albums - which is quite a feat considering her age (in this youth-oriented market), lack of radio play or singles, and minimal promotion compared with others.

I included this link which shows the charts, the levels Susan reached with each album, etc - Hope is being updated as more countries begin to chart her album:

I wonder too, and even more this year if Lakewood's sales and most Christian book sellers aren't recorded. As you say, her label knows and doesn't show any sign of angst that I've seen, nor Susan for that matter. They know so much that we'll never see.
