Wonderful review!!! And I too hope that Elaine wins many awards for this play: writing, acting, and singing. She surely deserves them. Still hoping the plays goes to West End and then Broadway.![]()
When word of this play first came to the fore, a lot of people just laughed. The Telegraph made that snarky remark about how this was going to be an example of the 'high' [NOT!] culture that would greet Olympic visitors. It was a joke. Instead, ECS has written a play that has been embraced by people who are not fans of Susan Boyle or her music and many have come away from seeing the play as fans, or - at minimum - admirers. A whole lot of folks are no longer making snarky comments and jokes about Susan Boyle as a result of this play. No mean feat.
