The clips of this are heartwarming. And, Yes, Susan was SMILING as she began the song. Nervous or not I believe she really loved the live performance opportunity and clearly saw the love of the audience regarding her life story thus far.

I couldn't get that link to play for me, but I'll tell you now, PL, Susan wasn't "smiling"...........she was beaming. It seems there is always someone who says she looks "nervous", but she owned that stage the two nights I saw her believe me.

I don't know if everyone has seen it, but I was just browsing and found Teesiel's video of Susan singing WIWBTB from, I think Edinburgh, during the tour of the musical IDAD, and I thought it was stupendous, there's so much natural warmth in her voice. I hadn't listened for a while and it knocked me out.
I thought you might like to see it, and hope that it's ok with Teesiel to direct you to it. i'm sorry I can't bring it here.

Soimpressed, it would really help if you could post a link here.

Just go back to that video and click on the URL at the top of the page (the http. address) and copy and paste it here. Thanks.
I love that her heart is as pure as her voice. (Twitter comment)

Nice to see this whole thread come back up. I too hope Elaine has another great run with this wonderful musical. So good to see CAC1936 comments. Someone who really understood what "owned that stage" means.

Actually I have since then also been looking at some of Teesiel's other great videos, including "Amazing Grace" in Japan- one of my most favourite ever of her performances- it really is incredible what she does with that song! So, so special.
All I can say is, bring on the "mini- tour" we have heard about, and let me have a seat at the front! With all of you, I hope.
i love the wild crazy love the audience gave her in Edinburgh in this video, and she looked so at ease. Maybe she should do some of her tour in Scotland - Susan always sings so particluarly well in her homeland- and make a live concert DVD there.
What happy times and great memories Susan has given us.
