Corkie, have you written a review on the S&S page? This would be a wonderful one to have on there if not.

Corkie, thanks for your wonderful review. Where did you get the book to read?

I got it yesterday from our local bookstore. Evidently they think the book police won't find them in our little town.

Thanks for such a wonderful review! I'm glad to hear there are things she left out that she could have told. Some part of herself needs to remain hers alone.

I'm picturing how pleased my husband will be to see me off the computer next week after I've bought the book, only to see me glued to this book!

                Thank you Corkie!!!

Now I really can't wait to get the book! And I agree with the others...you are a very good writer. I'll bet you were in shock when you saw the book already at the store. Wish your bookstore wasn't so far away!

What a perfectly fabulous review, Corkie. I mean REALLY GOOD. Any chance you'd have time to put it on AMAZON and B&N???. Who wouldn't want to read TWIWBTB after that.

Well, I finished Susan's book. It's possible to finish it in a day if you're a fast reader and you don't stop for anything.

I'm not going into any details, because I don't want to spoil anything for the rest of you, but it was even better than I expected -- and I expected a lot. I thought it was well written, but still found a couple typo's.

I laughed a lot. Susan has a unique way of telling things that just make a person burst out laughing. She also picked out some of the darnest things to put into the book. Even when I think about them now, I have to giggle. I think Piers will have a hearty laugh or two also!

Her honesty amazes me. I don't know if I could go into so much about my life. She answered questions we had wondered about. She wrote about things we never even knew about. There were still some things she left unsaid -- and that's just fine.

While I was reading I'd be giggling, then there were times I couldn't see the words on the pages because my eyes were so teary. I'll admit a few times I had to put the book aside to cry. There were bits from her childhood and a chapter about the Priory which particulary upset me. When I finally finished the book and went to bed, I didn't sleep very well. It was like I'd seen a very emotional movie and hadn't completely wound down yet. Every time I woke up, I woke up very emotional and weepy -- but then I'm an emotional person.

And -- she loves us!! She makes that perfectly clear. She even makes mention of the "pollster" fans and our efforts on her behalf (and we didn't think she noticed)! She also mentions how thrilled she is with all the gifts she receives and, of course, the wonderful quilt which I think she will treasure forever. The pictures in the book are wonderful.

I imagine this book will hit every person differently because of our different life experiences.
It affected me deeply. Susan's unbending faith in God is unbelieveable and her determination and courage when she is absolutely terrified is amazing. I don't see how anyone can read this book and not fall in love with her (or more in love with her). It will be fun to discuss it once everyone has read it.

You have put into words here from reading her book exactly what I felt when I saw her in NYC last year. She is a person of tremendous courage, determination and faith. As a human being she is incredible and inspiring. As a singer she is sublime. The combination is unprecedented, and this is why there will never be "another Susan Boyle".

Oh my goodness, that a perfectly glowing post on the book!!!!!!!!! Words like these will make everyone go out on Tuesday morning to get the best book they will ever read!!!!! I'm sure they will run out of them within an hour. We've read all most all of these things - I have kept a scrapbook since the April audition - but these will be the truth out of Susan's mouth (and heart). I can hardly wait now.

Thanks! But like I told Cac, I might change it around a little and get into more specifics. I didn't want to get into specifics for the forum though. Besides that, I'm not sure I'm supposed to have the book yet, my bookstore just called yesterday and told me to come and pick it up. I don't want to get them in trouble by posting a review too much before the street date.

+JMJ Corkie the staff at the bookstore did you a wonderful favor and I agree with you that you don't want to place the personnel into any kind of jeopardy. What a wonderful gift to you that you have it, have read it and thank you for sharing what a great read it will be for all of us, eventually <smile> God bless you! Peace!
