Glad you are here. We have our ups and downs(sometimes the take offs are rocky) but in the end this is a great place to be and a soft place to land.

[QUOTE=MartyPA;81216]Susan could have performed that song with a mouth full of marbles and Amanda would have praised it.
She has no choice.
Simon has a lot riding on that CD doing well, and she knows better than to cross him on this.
I don't know if he cared at all about the AC show, but this he would care about.[/QUOTE
Agree that Simon may have gotten his "mend your fences" message across to AH loud and clear. In addition AH received a lot of unhappy comments from us Susan fans, so she knows dissing Susan doesn't go over well in the US.
It was mentioned AH is a singer -- is that true -- what and where did she sing?

Let's not offer "No Exit"
Who among us has read "No Exit" by Jean-Paul Satre? What a depressing book!
I'm giving Amanda the benefit of the doubt. I'd like to think she can change course from the Alan Carr episode and once again be a positive presence in Susan's life. Sometimes people need a chance and encouragement to be their best selves, a graceful re-entrance.

Shivers around the pool

I haven't listened to Amanda's comments yet - again, after listening to Susan sing Wild Horses over and over and over again, I am in trouble with our Internet provider - climbing over the "fair usage" clause in the contract. Such is living on a farm in rural Minnesota. Will listen tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday nights in a hotel room!
Anyway, I shiver (a good shiver) when I think about the three of them sitting around the pool listening to Susan and being blown away like we are. Those three rich and famous people being affected this way by humble, honest, beatific Susan, who puts on no airs. She is truly one of a kind. I know not everyone wants religion brought into discussions, but I truly believe God had a role in this – answering Susan’s prayers and dreams, and in doing so, teaching many people a lesson about judging or not judging others, and giving us the gift of Susan. I read an article (link and comments below) where Simon said Susan sang Wild Horses “staggeringly well” and that he was amazingly proud of her. He also said he predicted her album to be the biggest album of the year. He told her at the BGT finale that he adored her, and I think he always will.
Simon Cowell: ‘Susan Boyle was staggeringly good’ @ Unreality TV
Simon Cowell was very impressed by Susan Boyle’s performance on America’s Got Talent last week, saying that she was ’staggeringly good.’
The Britain’s Got Talent judge told The Mirror:
“I thought her performance was staggeringly good and I felt amazingly proud of her. It hasn’t been easy for her as we all know. It was a personal triumph and I was very very happy for her. I am really happy with the record and I am going to say that it will be the biggest album of the year. She has a broad reach of fans so we have made an album to appeal to that.”

I am not sure what else AH has appeared in but she did Thoroughly Modern Millie a few years back.

Go ahead and listen to Amanda's comments. She very complimentary. I agree Simon loves Susan and he"s very proud of her and the new CD. Can't wait to hear the whole CD.

Just a few thoughts.....
Everything Amanda said about Susan is what I felt about Susan from day one. I thought Susan was very confident in her delivery at her audition. She was graceful, remember her curtsy and blowing kisses. I never needed a wake up call.
I have watched Amanda say whatever at any given moment to cater to the mood of the moment in the media.
I have nothing personal against Amanda ,I'm simply not impressed with her and I would never allow anything she says about Susan shape my opinion of Susan.
Susan went on BGT as her last resort to showcase her great singing talent and as a result gained the exposure
required to have a great singing career. Soon she will be beyond all this scrutiny and be far above BGT and Amanda Holden. Soon no one will be asking Piers or Amanda for their opinion of Susan's talent for it will be obvious what her talent is . Anything they have to say will be an understatement.
I don't believe Susan choose the middle ground with her dress and hairstyle. I believe she was being herself. I see her style as "Understated Elegance" ( like Audrey Hepburn ).

Marie, I'm impressed by your words very much. I hope Amanda is sincere now. I don't like to see a person acts as a weathercock. Her comment on the show sounded very supportive of Susan. I, as a fan would like to appreciate that.
