I am maintaining a daily log of the highlights of Susa-news and not editorializing toooo much. Accuracy is very important - PLEASE PM any additions and/or corrections to me. I’ve tried to credit the right Fan where possible. Please forgive my mistakes and send me a correction.

    January 5–11: A Quiet Susa-week

    January 5, Sunday

    1. Susan was at a party Saturday night? Two tweets from a person: “Thanks for last night babes @SusanBoyleHQ Love you xx …You know it was a good night when you have a boogie with Susan Boyle, one of the Atomic Kittens and see Tom Daley in VIP!”

    2. Mirror.co.uk posted “Susan Boyle: My millions and fame have torn my family apart” by Gemma Aldridge. Even though the title of the extended report seems to be information from Susan, actually the report is Gerry Boyle’s response to the information posted in the Scottish Sun by Douglas Walker (see Dec. 23#3 & 24#3) about the flow of Susan’s money that Gerry has gotten from her since her rise to fame in 2009 and the split in the Boyle family.
“The row started shortly after Susan shot to worldwide fame on Simon Cowell’s show Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. Two factions emerged. One was made up of Gerry, eldest sister Mary and brother John. The other is middle sister Bridie, nephew Alan and nieces Joanne, Jaqueline and Kirsty. Neither side can stand to be in the same room as the other.” And near the end of the report, “Last night, Mary did not want to comment. John was unavailable. Bridie, Alan, Joanne and Jacqueline were unavailable.”
“Semi-pro singer Gerry makes no secret that she had already given more than £250k to the business since becoming famous. But he claimed generous SuBo called him before Christmas to offer more cash after John confided in her about his business troubles. He is adamant it was only when other family members found out about the arrangement that Susan claimed he had put pressure on her.
“SuBo took on Bridie’s daughter Joanne as a PA and gave another admin role to brother James' daughter Jacqueline. She then asked Kirsty Foy, another niece who was a lawyer in London, to manage her revenue, giving her five per cent of profits from the sales of her first two albums.”
“Kirsty [Foy] said: “I did get five per cent commission from her first two albums. My fee came out of the management commission, not Susan's share of income. I am proud of the part I played for Susan. There is a big rift in the family. But Gerry does not have Susan’s best ¬interests at heart. I am just worried for her. Gerard’s ambitions are limitless but Susan’s money is not.’”
The report concluded with: “Susan’s spokesperson said: ‘The story about Mr Boyle’s alleged suicide bid was true. Mr Boyle, acting with his brother and partner, did pressurise and threaten suicide if Susan did not pay yet another large amount of money to him, £50,000.’”

    3. Thescottishsun.co.uk posted “Everybody else speaks to Sunday's Scottish Sun:
Bruv cash storm over SuBo’s will” by Douglas Walker
“Grasping Gerry, 59, took SuBo, 52, to a lawyer where she signed a legally binding document handing him power of attorney over her affairs. But she later scrapped the 2011 agreement — which would have allowed him to make decisions on her estimated £20million riches — after outraged pals discovered the move.
“Sources also say generous SuBo, of Blackburn, West Lothian, has given him nearly £400,000 since shooting to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 1999. The source added: “Gerry is a Walter Mitty character. Thankfully Susan had the agreement revoked which he wasn’t too pleased about.”

    4. Tweets from Douglas Walker: “A new low today for Susan Boyle's despicable brother Gerry Boyle - says SHE lied to other relatives about him blackmailing her for £50k.…A reminder of the Gerry Boyle £50k suicide blackmail truth, as confirmed by Susan Boyle's spokesperson”

    5. Examiner.com posted “Susan Boyle’s family ruined by her fame? Siblings allegedly want her money” by Darla Hanger.
The report opened with: “Susan Boyle sings like an angel, but it sounds like she is dealing with some serious family hell. The popular singer was on the ‘FOX New All-American New Year’ show singing, but back at home she appears to be in the middle of a family feud.”
After alluding to the family factions and complaints, the report concluded: “Fans have heard Boyle’s family complain before about Susan’s cash. For some reason the siblings feel they deserve of some of the serious change after she won “Britain’s Got Talent,” but Susan is the only one singing. Previously it was rumors of her brother threatening suicide if he didn’t get cash. Now, more of this drama surrounding the money grab is going on, but thankfully, there are a few less death threats being made.
“Susan Boyle’s family should be jealous of the entertainer. She took a risk and sang before the world and beat all odds. Beating Asperger's to become a serious singing sensation, should be respected by the family. Boyle's family should encourage her success, not ride on its coattails.”

    January 6, Monday
    1. Possibly Susan was in a studio: a few tweets:
    • “@diplo: in the studio with @JODYHiGHROLLER @SusanBoyleHQ @BLOOD_DIAMOND5” <--making album of the year.”

    2. Kdramastars.com posted “Music & Tech Trends Going Into 2014; YouTube Continues To Invade Music Industry; Mobile Devices, Growing Web Audience, Social Networking, Music Messages Contribute To Videos Going Viral” by Jakewriter.
“Music and tech go well together and that's why they are a hot trend going into the new year. You have to admit that YouTube is covering some new territory. …
“There have also been some touching moments in reality show competitions like 'Britain's Got Talent,' 'The X-Factor,' and a slew of others. … It also inspires others to chase their dreams. Susan Boyle is a great example and she still gets lots of views.”
    • CanadianBill noted: “We’re averaging 4 million views a year just on our little youtube channel [the SBFII YouTube channel].

    January 9, Thursday

    January 10, Friday

    1. Dailymail.co.uk posted “Subo, my neighbour from hell: Woman next door accuses singer of belting out Wild Horses every day... but star insists SHE is the problem” by Paul Bentley. The highlights:
“For Susan Boyle’s next-door neighbours, however, hearing her sing every day became a nightmare – leading to almighty rows and police calls. Teresa Miller, 40, claims Miss Boyle would play her own singles and perform karaoke at the top of her voice. Her favourites were said to include Wild Horses, I Dreamed A Dream and Donny Osmond’s This Is The Moment.
“Miss Miller said she complained, but in return Miss Boyle and other neighbours accused her of anti-social behaviour – and Miss Miller and her disabled ten-year-old daughter Daniella were told to leave their rented house by their landlord in October. The singer then rented the property and plans to buy it so she can convert the two semis, both former council houses, into a detached six-bedroom home. …
“Representatives of Miss Boyle, 52, deny that her singing has caused problems and said Miss Miller’s claims had been dismissed by other neighbours. As well as denying that Miss Boyle’s singing had caused problems, her agent said she did not force her neighbours from their house and had started renting the property only after they had already been asked to leave. A spokesman added: ‘Susan’s love of her home town has been well documented in the past. She continues to enjoy living there and enjoys good relationships with her neighbours.’
“Miss Miller’s landlord Mrs Pacitti said: ‘We served Teresa with a notice to quit because there were three serious issues with that tenancy. It was a business decision and has absolutely nothing to do with Susan Boyle. We had complaints of anti-social behaviour, not just from Susan, from other neighbours as well. Susan did not ask me to remove Teresa. I approached Susan. There was nothing underhand.’”

Thanks as always, LucyB. It was a difficult, roller-coaster week for Susafans. And again, you have captured it all. It's so heartwarming to see how the week ended though.
